UM’s Maize & Blue Cupboard (MBC) and Ann Arbor-based Food Gatherers along with the College of Engineering will host an additional mobile food distribution program Wednesday, December 9th, 2pm-4pm to make MBC resources more accessible to individuals living on North Campus while staying within COVID-19 safety and health guidelines. Due to colder weather, the mobile distribution has been moved to the connector hallway between Pierpont Commons and the Duderstadt building directly across from the gallery space.
The initial idea for the North Campus Distribution pilot originated through the COVID Campus Challenge, sponsored by the College of Engineering and Student Life.
Trucks will deliver food items to the connector hallway and shoppers can pick up pre-bagged vegetables and fruits as well as non-perishables pre-boxed for safety.
Reservations are required to participate in the mobile distribution and can be made on the Maize & Blue Cupboard website. It is suggested that those participating bring a reusable bag or other method to carry groceries. Volunteers and donations of resources are also needed. Visit MBC to see how you can help.
